Last year, Ukraine’s barley exports amounted to $557 million, which is 8,35% of global barley exports and 2,26% of Ukraine’s total agricultural exports.
In 2024, the leading global barley exporters (along with Ukraine) were: Australia – $1,65 billion; the EU – 1,35$ billion; russia – $946 million; Canada – $658 million; Ukraine – $557 million, Kazakhstan - $265 million.
Main destinations for Ukrainian barley exports:
China – 38%, EU – 20%, Libya – 9%, Tunisia – 6%, Jordan – 6%.
In 2024, the crop demonstrated a recovery, with exports rising to $557 million, the best result since the start of the full-scale invasion. The operation of Ukraine’s maritime corridor made it possible to restore sea logistics – 79% of barley export shipments were made through Black Sea ports.
At the same time, the number of importing countries decreased last year from 39 to 30. The market became more concentrated, with nearly 80% of all Ukrainian barley exported to five key countries.
