Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 47% in September

Electricity imports in September 2025 decreased by 47%, compared to the previous month – up to almost 140 thousand MWh.

Hungary continues to account for the largest share in the import structure – 58%. In general, imports decreased in all directions, and there were practically no deliveries from Slovakia due to line repairs.

Electricity imports from Moldova have decreased significantly, by 80%.

Compared to September 2024, imports decreased by almost 70%.

At the same time, in September 2025, Ukraine exported 635 thousand MWh of electricity, which is 41% more than in August.

The indicator is a record since the beginning of integration with ENTSO-E. The largest amount of electricity was exported to Hungary, 40% of all volumes.

The largest increase was in supplies to Poland, after the temporary suspension of cross-border trade with Slovakia due to repairs on the Velké Kapušany-Mukachevo line. Exports to Poland in September amounted to 97.3 thousand MWh, which is almost 5 times more than in the previous month.
