In Nigeria, more than 50% of land is not cultivated, so Ukrainian agricultural producers who plan to enter the markets of African countries should consider agriculture. The company «First Mill» has already submitted documents in one of the states of Nigeria to receive 2 thousand hectares for cultivation. This was announced by the General Director of Pershiy Mlyn LLC Ihor Novytskyi during the conference «Africa for Agricultural Exporters: Ways to Restore Lost Markets».
He notes that, first of all, Ukrainians have expertise in agriculture, which is not available in African countries, but without a concrete presence of the company in this market, nothing will succeed. «In African countries, you can grow two harvests a year, besides, land is very cheap. However, the provision of land for usage, apart from the state level, will also need to be decided with local communities», – says Ihor Novytskyi.
