In the first quarter of 2024, Ukraine exported 217 tons of molluscs — 2,1 times more than in the same period last year.
In monetary terms, the export of shellfish reached 606 000 US dollars — 1,9 times more than in January-March 2023. The main buyers of Ukrainian shellfish in the 1st quarter of 2024 were Spain (84%), Georgia (6.8%) and Greece (5.1%).
During January-March 2024, 1,1 thousand tons of molluscs were purchased abroad — 19,4% more than in the same period of 2023. Ukraine spent 3,8 million US dollars on them, which is 18,8% more than in January-March last year. The largest suppliers of shellfish to the domestic market this year were China (35.2%), Peru (17,6%) and France (16,3%).
