In the first quarter of 2024, 86 000 cars were imported to Ukraine. Their total declared value was 1,1 billion US dollars, and the state budget received 11,1 billion UAH for importing these cars.
For comparison, in the 1st quarter of 2023, 52 000 cars were imported to Ukraine (67% less than in the 1st quarter of 2024) with a declared value of over 705,8 million US dollars (61% less than in the 1st quarter of 2024) and 7,4 billion UAH was paid to the budget (49% less than in the 1st quarter of 2024). The majority of cars were imported from Germany - 17 100 cars, the USA - 14 500 cars and China - 9 100 cars. The TOP-5 included cars from Japan - 8,9 thousand cars and South Korea - 4,4 thousand cars. The ten leaders among the countries from which most cars were imported to Ukraine are: Slovakia - 4,2 thousand cars, France - 4,1 thousand cars, Mexico - 4 thousand cars, Great Britain - 3,7 thousand cars and the Czech Republic – 3,7 thousand cars.
In terms of value, the largest imports of cars came from the USA - 211,2 million US dollars (2 billion UAH were paid to the state budget), Germany - 168,7 million US dollars (more than 2,1 billion UAH were paid to the state budget), China - 138,2 million US dollars (the state budget received 182,3 million UAH). Japan - 133,6 million US dollars (the budget received almost 1,8 billion UAH) and Slovakia - 81,7 million US dollars (788,4 million UAH were paid to the state budget) were among the TOP-5 in terms of the declared value of imported cars.
The top 10 countries in terms of the value of imported passenger cars included: Great Britain - 59,6 million US dollars (almost 492 million UAH were paid to the budget), Hungary - 53,2 million US dollars (the budget received more than UAH 515,3 million), South Korea - 49,3 million US dollars (the budget received 468,4 million UAH), Poland - 40,2 million US dollars (more than 351,6 million UAH were paid to the state budget) and Romania - 38,8 million US dollars(311,9 million UAH were transferred to budget of Ukraine).
