Canada has adopted a new free trade agreement with Ukraine

The House of Commons of Canada has adopted the updated free trade agreement with Ukraine, which was signed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in September.

The agreement was accepted despite the objections of conservative MPs who criticized the bill because of "carbon pricing".

The trade agreement does not require the Ukrainian government to commit to introduce a carbon tax. It contains provisions that the countries will cooperate on "promoting carbon pricing and measures aimed at reducing carbon emissions."
