Ukraine is enhancing control over the export of agricultural products

Ukraine is imposing tighter controls on traders to raise revenue to finance its wartime defense. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will require grain and oilseed exporters to obtain licenses or provide tax accounting for the time before the invasion, the government said. If the situation changes, the mechanism may be supplemented.

The government is seeking to oust shell companies, repatriate more foreign currency earnings and increase tax collection as Ukraine's international allies, who provide financial aid, scrutinize its anti-corruption efforts. However, these actions take time and traders' expenses grow as their shipments are delayed.
