In March, Ukrainian companies exported 524 000 tons of sunflower oil, which was 29% (118 000 tons) more than the previous month. This is one of the highest indicators of monthly export since the beginning of the russian invasion. In total, since the beginning of the 2022/23 season, Ukraine has exported 3,2 million tons of oil.

Sunflower export in March increased by 34 000 tons compared to February and amounted to 199 000 tons. Since the beginning of the season, total sunflower export from Ukraine amounted to about 1,8 million tons (USDA estimate — 2,65 million tons). Thus, in oil equivalent, 80% of sunflower in Ukraine is processed and exported as oil and meal, 20% is direct sunflower export.
