The European Commission has created a business platform for the export of Ukrainian grain

The European Commission continues to look for the most efficient ways to export grain blocked by Russia in Ukrainian ports by land and has created a business platform for contacts between European logistics representatives and Ukrainian grain traders.

This was stated by the spokesman of the European Commission for Transport Adalber Jans at a briefing in Brussels, Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In order to simplify the export of grain, the European Commission today launched a new tool within the European Enterprise Network, which allows to combine business efforts in the EU and in Ukraine. It aims to create a new partnership between European companies offering transport or warehousing solutions and Ukrainian grain traders looking for European logistics partners,” - the spokesman said.

He explained that contact points have been set up in the EU countries, where representatives of European logistics will be able to solve organizational issues with Ukrainian partners on the principle of one window.

“EU countries are also taking steps to speed up procedures at border crossings. The European Commission is preparing agreements in the field of road transport between the EU, on the one hand, and with Ukraine and Moldova, on the other,” - Janz added.

According to his words, the extension of the European transport corridor TEN-T to Ukraine will not only make the connection between the European Union and Ukraine better, but also prepare the ground for future work on the country's reconstruction, promote approching between the EU and Ukraine.

At the same time, the EU welcomes the efforts within the UN to unblock sea routes for the export of Ukrainian crops by traditional sea routes from Ukrainian ports, the EC spokesman added.

As a result of Russian aggression, more than 20 million tons of grain destined for export, including to African countries, have been blocked in Ukrainian ports. The invaders deliberately fired on grain warehouses and steal Ukrainian grain. According to the European Commission, the Putin regime is deliberately making such actions to create a global threat of hunger and use it to achieve political goals.
