The Kingspan company will invest 200 million Euro in production in Ukraine

The Irish manufacturer of heat-insulating energy-efficient technologies Kingspan intends to invest 200 million Euro in the creation of a new construction technology hub in Ukraine. This hub will be constructed during the next 5 years and when finished it will create 600 working places. The representatives of the company said it during their visit to Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine  Dmytro Kuleba, welcoming the Kingspan’s decision to invest in Ukraine said that based on President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s vision, the Government and the Office of the President of Ukraine created the Recovery Plan for Ukraine, and Kingspan’s project meets the goal of this plan. Our goal is not solely renewal and rebuilding of the destruction caused by Russian aggression but also the creation of a completely new, modern and innovative economy leveraging leading urban development expertise and green technologies.

The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine invited the international business community to follow this example by withdrawing completely from Russia and relocating their businesses in Ukraine. This will benefit both: a company’s standing and its long-term strategy.

During his visit to Kyiv CEO of Kingspan Group Gene Murtagh said that this investment sits at the crossroads of three crises: the climate crisis, the energy security crisis, and the crisis caused by the Russian war against Ukraine. The new Building Technology Campus we are planning will make positive contributions on all three fronts, supporting Ukraine as it rebuilds its economy, meeting demand across central and Eastern Europe for energy efficient buildings, and helping Europe to reduce reliance on oil and gas imports. Our ambition is for the development process to begin immediately – subject to appropriate security conditions - with the facility expected to be fully completed within 5 years. Kingspan has appointed a project team to identify a suitable manufacturing site, probably in the west of the country and with this aim it is communicating with the Ukrainian Government.

Additionally: Kingspan has 198 manufacturing facilities around the world and employs more than 19 000 people. On April 5, Kingspan announced that it retired from the russian market and handed over its activities to local management. russia accounted for less than 1% of Kingspan's global operations. Kingspan products are no longer available for sale in russia. Kingspan donated 750 000 US dollars to UNICEF to set up five Blue Dot centers to help refugees at the Ukrainian border.
