Recently Ukraine has been exporting approximately 1,5 million tons of grain by land per month. According to Ukrinform, Olga Trofimtseva, the Roving ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coordinator of the Council of Exporters and Investors, said this during an online briefing on Monday.

She said that in recent months Ukraine has been exporting approximately 1,5 million tons of grain by land (railway and road).

She has also informed that the European infrastructure turned out to be not prepared for the volumes of grain exported by Ukraine. But she noted efforts of such countries as Poland, Germany and other countries in developing the transit hubs at the borders, accelerated passage of trains with Ukrainian grain  between countries to the ports, where this grain can be loaded into ships.  

Olga Trofimtseva has also mentioned that President Biden said that the USA will also build temporary grain storage facilities on the territory of Poland near the Ukrainian border in order to unload Ukrainian grain storage facilities before the 2022 harvest.

The diplomat also paid her attention to the fact that the European partners have simplified all customs and phytosanitary control procedures as much as possible so that Ukrainian grain reaches its end consumers as quickly as possible.

As it has been reported earlier, due to the blockade of Ukrainian seaports, 7 million tons of wheat, 14 million tons of corn, 3 million tons of sunflower oil, and 3 million tons of sunflower cake did not enter the world market. This has already led to a record rise in prices on the world market and will inevitably result in a global food crisis and rising inflation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on May 31 informed that Ukraine is working on the international operation under the auspices of the UN with partner fleets to create safe trade routes for Ukrainian food exports.
