Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution dated March 9, 2022 № 234, on the uninterrupted supply of imported food and forage under the martial law.
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolves:
To establish that for the period of martial law imposed by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of February 24, 2022 № 64 “About the martial law in Ukraine”:
Food market operators who, as a result of hostilities, are unable to comply with Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Information on Food Products” on information on imported food products, may sell food products in the customs territory of Ukraine, information about them is given in a language other than the state language. In this case, the lots of these foods must be accompanied by mandatory information about the food product in a state language. Such information shall be provided at the request of consumers by food market operators selling food products in the manner specified by such operators;
forage market operators who are unable to comply with the requirements of the second paragraph of the first part of Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Safety and Hygiene of Forage” on the labeling of imported forage may sell in the customs territory of Ukraine forage labeled in a language other than the state language. In this case, the lots of these forage must be accompanied by labels about the forage in a state language. Such labeling shall be performed at the request of consumers by forage market operators selling forage in the manner specified by such operators;
labeling of food and forage imported (shipped) to the customs territory of Ukraine as humanitarian aid may be in a language other than a state language;
if the manufacturing facilities are closed due to hostilities, market operators may use packaging or containers for food and forage which are left for their intended purpose at other manufacturing facilities producing similar food and forage.
