Ukraine and Israel have agreed to intensify trade and economic relations

The Twelfth Meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation chaired by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and the Minister of Housing,

Minister of Jerusalem and Traditions, Minister of Relations between the Government and the Knesset of Israel Zeev Elkin took place відбулося in Jerusalem on November 30, 2021.

During the meeting the parties expressed satisfaction with the active dynamics of development of bilateral relations, in particular in the economic sphere. The entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Israel (January 1, 2021) was an important stage in the development of Ukrainian-Israeli relations.

Thus, the parties identified spheres of cooperation of mutual interest, including trade, agriculture, food security of Israel. The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the export of blueberries, apples, table eggs and beef to the State of Israel. They also considered the possibility of involving Israeli companies in a national project to create and renovate existing irrigation systems in southern Ukraine and agreed to continue cooperation in the energy and educational-scientific spheres.

Besides this, the participants of the meeting discussed cooperation in the field of telecommunications. The Ukrainian side has invited leading Israeli IT companies and investors to participate in the fourth Ukrainian-Israeli Innovation and Investment Summit, which will be held on 15 December, 2021 in Kyiv.

In the context of intensifying bilateral cooperation in the field of health care, the parties agreed on a number of internship programs for Ukrainian doctors in the fields of oncology, transplantation and other related specialties.

The participants discussed the use of the Israeli experience of water purification and water treatment in Ukraine separately. The parties agreed to start the work of the relevant bilateral working group. The parties expressed mutual interest in the development of tourism and the promotion of such tourist products as religious, cultural, historical and recreational.
