Within the Program ,,Acceleration of Private Investment in Agriculture of Ukraine”, which is implemented together with the World Bank, there is a preparatory work for the construction of border inspection points (BIP). Within the Program there will be ten such points built by the end of 2023.

Border inspection points will control and monitor safety of food products based on EU requirements and best practices, and monitor products’ compliance with sanitary and phytosanitary measures. For today there are no such border inspection points on the territory of Ukraine, and there is a control at customs offices inside the country.

The project is implemented jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, the State Customs Service and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Now there is a previous phase of the project: the issues of transfer the land plots on which the border inspection points are located  into the rent of State Food and Consumer Service and the city-planning norms and rules are being agreed upon. This and other issues were discussed on April 20 during a meeting with the representatives of the World Bank.

The construction of border inspection points will take place in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ,,On State Control over Compliance with Legislation on Food, Forage, Animal By-Products, Animal Health and Welfare” № 2042 dated 18.05.2017 and the Loan Agreement between Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 27.08.2019.
