The press-service of the National Scientific Centre “Institute of Agrarian Economics” has informed that, according to Bohdan Dukhnytskyi, the senior research associate of the Department of Agricultural manufacturing economy and international integration, Ukraine occupied the leading positions in the 2019 world ranking of agricultural products exporters and retained the 1^st place by the volumes of sunflower oil exports.

The report says that in 2019 Ukraine was still occupying the leading positions in the world ranking of agricultural products exporters. According to the contemporaneous data, provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and International Trade Centre (ITC), Ukraine traditionally retained the 1-st place among the sunflower oil exports. Since 2006, when our country had become the leader in the world ranking for the first time, by selling to the other countries 1629 thousand tons of oil, Ukraine increased the exports volumes of this type of product by 3,7 times. Last year, the foreign supplies of domestic sunflower oil amounted to 6107 thousand tons.

It has also been mentioned in the report that Ukraine is on the 2-nd place among the countries-exporters of barley, rapeseeds, fresh peas, millet, and sunflower oil cake. In 2018 Ukraine occupied the 3-rd place (after Indonesia and Canada) with the volumes of the oil cake (mostly sunflower oil cake) deliveries of 4471 thousand tons and in 2019 our country increased exports volumes by 11 % – to 4957 thousand tons. This brought Ukraine to the 2-nd position after the traditional leader Indonesia.
