In January-February 2019 exports of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by 683, 8 million USD and this is by 24,4% in comparison with the same period last year.
It was announced by OlhaTrofimtseva, the acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Consequently, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth 3,5 billion USD.
A share of export of agricultural and food products is 43,9% in the total Ukrainian exports. The most frequently exported products were: corn (a share in the total agrarian exports was 33,6%), sunflower, safflower or cotton oil (20,13%), wheat and a mixture of wheat withrye (11,84%).
Moreover, in January-February the amount of corn exports increased by 84,4% (this is by 528,4 million USD), wheat exports – by 27,8% (this is almost by 90 million USD), exports of press cake (pomace) and other solid wasteobtained in the result of sunflower oil production– by 39,7% (this is by 55,8 million USD).
It was also mentioned by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine that in January-February 2019 Ukraine exported agricultural products worth 1,25 billion USD to the countries of European Union. The EU largest countries-importers of Ukrainian agricultural products were Netherlands – 7,4% of total exports, Spain – 6,7%, Italy – 3,8% and Poland – 3,3%.
